Coastal Auto Shipping LLC (“CAS LLC”) agrees to facilitate the transportation of vehicle(s) or items (“the Goods”) as per the service quotation provided to the customer (“Customer”). The scheduled pick-up and delivery dates are estimates based on the carrier’s availability, operational limitations, and external factors such as weather or traffic conditions. While CAS LLC will make reasonable efforts to adhere to the provided dates, any changes, delays, or rescheduling caused by factors beyond human control, including but not limited to road conditions, natural disasters, or logistical issues, are not the responsibility of CAS LLC.
Once the pick-up of the Goods is confirmed with a reliable carrier, CAS LLC considers its obligation under the service agreement partially fulfilled. CAS LLC’s responsibility is deemed complete once the Goods are delivered to the designated destination address provided by the Customer. Any subsequent handling or transportation beyond the initial delivery point is not covered under this agreement.
The carrier assumes liability for damages to the Goods only when such damages are directly caused by the carrier’s negligence or failure to meet industry standards. The Customer acknowledges and agrees that CAS LLC and its designated carriers will not be responsible for any damages occurring to the Goods during transport unless such damages are a direct result of carrier negligence.
The Customer is solely responsible for ensuring that all vehicles or items are clear of personal belongings prior to pick-up. CAS LLC and the carrier are not responsible for any personal property left inside the vehicle, nor will they transport items that are considered hazardous, illegal, or prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, explosives, firearms, narcotics, pets, and illegal substances. For international shipments, the transportation of personal items is strictly prohibited by law, and any such items found within the vehicle will be confiscated and removed at the Customer’s expense.
In the event of unforeseen delays caused by accidents, natural disasters, inclement weather, strikes, civil disturbances, or other acts of God, CAS LLC assumes no responsibility for any costs or expenses incurred by the Customer related to auto rentals, alternative transportation arrangements, or any other inconveniences caused by such delays. The Customer is advised to make their own arrangements for such situations.
If the vehicle or Goods are unavailable for pick-up at the scheduled time or if the vehicle is relocated or cannot be picked up for any reason upon the carrier’s arrival, CAS LLC reserves the right to charge a reposting fee of $150. This fee will be added to the total cost of the transport and the dispatch department will initiate a new scheduling process. If the Customer is unavailable or fails to meet the carrier at the scheduled pick-up location, the Customer must designate a representative aged 18 years or older to be present. Failure to do so may result in additional fees.
The carrier is not liable for damages resulting from pre-existing mechanical failures or conditions, including but not limited to engine freezing, fluid leaks, issues with the vehicle’s cooling system, batteries, exhaust components, or transmission failures. Additionally, the carrier is not responsible for damages to the vehicle’s exhaust system, mufflers, tailpipes, transmission, airbags, or any computerized or electronic components that are not directly related to the vehicle’s ability to be transported. The Customer is encouraged to ensure that the vehicle is in good working condition prior to transport to avoid such issues.
The assigned carrier maintains primary insurance coverage for the vehicle or Goods during transit. The carrier’s insurance typically covers up to $750,000 for public liability and property damage. However, the Customer acknowledges that the carrier’s insurance coverage is subject to the terms and limitations of the insurance policy.
In the event of damage to the Goods, the Customer must file a claim directly with the carrier, providing a written report within 24 hours of delivery. The claim must be supported by the Bill of Lading, which should detail the condition of the Goods at the time of pick-up. If no damage is noted on the Bill of Lading, the vehicle is presumed to have been received in satisfactory condition, and CAS LLC and the carrier will not be held liable for any subsequent damages. Legal action may not be initiated against CAS LLC for damages under any circumstances.
For international shipments, CAS LLC does not include ocean freight insurance within the standard service agreement. However, optional freight insurance may be available for purchase at a rate not exceeding 2% of the vehicle’s value. The Customer must request and confirm this insurance in writing prior to shipping.
In addition, CAS LLC will not be liable for any customs-related fees, import taxes, or storage charges that may arise after the vehicle has arrived at the destination port. Once the Goods arrive at the destination port, the service agreement between CAS LLC and the Customer is considered fulfilled, and any further obligations related to the shipment, including but not limited to customs clearance, are the responsibility of the Customer.
CAS LLC reserves the right to refuse service to any individual or entity that violates any terms and conditions outlined in this agreement or engages in any conduct that is abusive, harassing, or disruptive to CAS LLC or its staff. In such cases, CAS LLC may cancel the order and charge an administrative fee. If CAS LLC has already initiated any work or preparations for transport, these administrative fees will be non-refundable.
If the Customer’s vehicle is not picked up within 30 days of the originally scheduled pick-up date, the Customer is entitled to a full refund of the broker fee. Refunds will be processed within 10 business days from the cancellation date. However, if the Customer disputes any charges or initiates a chargeback, a $45 fee will be charged to cover the associated costs. All cancellations must be made in writing via email, and must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the scheduled pick-up date to be eligible for a refund. Cancellations are subject to the policies outlined on our website.
To cancel an order, the Customer must send a written notice to CAS LLC via email at [email protected] at least two weeks before the originally scheduled pick-up date. Any cancellations made outside of this period may result in a partial or no refund.
